In this article, we synthesize the written materials andmain discussion points from the Inventing SocialEmergency Medicine conference into a theoretic model forthe application of social emergency medicine research. Wemodified the Haddon matrix framework for our theoreticmodel such that we present social emergency medicine byappending the classic 2-dimensional matrix with a newthird dimension to discuss key research themes andcontroversies that arose from discussions at the conferenceand through their accompanying articles.
